Well here we are. Shoutout to Dad and Michael convincing me to start a blog. I have no clue how this is all going to work out, but there's no better time to start than the first day of college! And yeah, today I moved into my new home in the nations capitol at the Catholic University of America. And so far so good! Im really pleased with my dorm room setup: Dark Knight, Eagles, and Polska posters accompanied by lots of pictures. Also thanks to Nelson for putting lots of pictures on my digital picture frame. I could sit and watch it for days. Well not quite, but you get the picture. Haha, that's punny.
Today after moving in we had our first soccer team meeting. We went over the basic expectations and stuff and it was really good to get everything situated. There are a total of like 15 freshman tho! Way more than I expected but not all have a guaranteed spot on the team like I do, thank goodness. It will be interesting to see who and how many kids coach will cut. At least I don't have to worry about that! Coach also let us know that tomorrow we will be running our first fitness test. One mile in 5:30. The best part is that it is at 6:30 am which is exactly the time I trained throughout the summer. Hopefully all of the work of the summer tour will pay off. Some of these kids probably haven't even gotten up that early this summer. I just hope I can pass it. The "Champions Club" is under five minutes which was the goal at the beginning of the summer, but I have no idea what I will be running it in tomorrow. Hopefully with the adrenaline and the whole team around, I can put up a solid time.
Anyway at the end of the meeting coach showed us the highlight reel of last years team. Talk about getting everyone pumped! The upper classmen and captains seem really motivated and focussed so it will be interesting to see how everyone fits together.
That's about it for my first day of college. Not all that eventful but excited to get everything going. My roommate isn't even here yet cause he doesn't play soccer so I've just been jamming with my new computer speakers and subwoofer that my wonderful mother gifted to me ;)
And now it's off to bed for me. Bed before ten o'clock on my first night. #studentathleteprobs
