Hampden Sydney

These past days have felt like two weeks.  I can't believe we've only finished the third day of preseason.  It's been a lot of fun but a ton of work and I'm starting to get tired and sore.  This morning I woke up with a sore knee.  I was pretty concerned about it.  In yesterday's game I felt a slight tweak to my knee but I played through it and didn't think twice about it.  Until this morning when it hurt and I was a little concerned about it.  So i went early to the trainer before practice and she said I tweaked my MCL.  I was really worried but she said it's not too bad.  I ended up passing the Man U test right after that and it felt decent.  Not 100%

Then later we left on the bus for our Hampden Sydney scrimmage.  It was about a 3.5 hour bus ride and it felt even longer.  Just had to plug in the earphones and try to sleep.  In the game, coach split us up into three squads each playing 30 minutes.  Unfortunately I was still stuck in the third string again.  I just worked my "apple" off as Nelson would say and tried to be as vocal as possible.  The upperclassman said I played well again and I was pleased once again.  I still think I can make my way into the second string but hopefully in time I can get there. It's still early in the season.  Anyway my knee felt fine playing so I hope it'll strengthen and I've just been icing and Advil the whole day.

Tomorrow orientation begins and my roommate is moving in.  I'm excited to meet him and get the room fully situated.  I still have to move all my stuff back onto my side.  Not gonna lie, it's not bad having a whole suite to myself!  I will also get to see Mom tomorrow which will be nice.  She took the sketchy Megabus up to the city today and arrived safely thank goodness!  Prayers also go out to Nana who took a bad fall the other day.  A broken knee cap and bump on the head really limits what she can do and hopefully she won't have to have surgery.  Fingers crossed.  Lastly I would like to keep Colin Whittington and my suite mate Carl in mind; both suffered head injuries today and are headed to the hospital.  It's pretty depressing ending on all these injuries and stuff but hopefully all will be healed soon.  Godspeed (I think that's the right usage of that)

Goodnight to all, and stay injury free.
